Hopefully your Christmas season has been kind to you and that you are full of cheer wherever you are. The story of this cover started last Christmas, when I was driving slow through my hometown with my family to look at the Christmas lights. At the time, I was listening to a Christmas themed radio station. Lo and behold, Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" comes on and my father starts singing the song word for word. Afterwards, he tells me about he sang this song a long time ago, on stage to his fellow Soldiers while stationed in Germany. During a Christmas party, his command wanted troops that could sing. My father, with no singing experience but a passion for the song, "tries out" for the role and sang the song with the same intonations as Nat King Cole. Needless to say, his command was thoroughly surprised. And to my father's surprise, they have him perform the song during the festivities. His people loved it, and his voice. Now, I am a very simple minded individual, and I am a son that wants to be just like his dad. So when I heard of this and started to listen to other people's cover's of this song, I wanted to give it the ol' college try and sing it myself in honor of my father's efforts way back when. Now comes the fun part. I was there for the release of Jschlatt's Christmas Album, and I listened to it a lot. I also happened across Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame's covers of classic Christmas songs. Now these two sounded amazing in their own right. But then I came across a channel (Ijir0's channel specifically), and found out that he created a fan duet of the Christmas song (featuring Jschlatt and ERB). Immediately it became my favorite modern version of the song, and I found out how I would want to cover it. In search of potential female singers to recruit for this venture, I came across someone that I listened to for a long time, all the way back in freshman year of high school (specifically Miss Rena, and her work on FalKKonE). I was hesitant to ask, but thought that the worst she could say was no. But praise God, she accepted my offer and here we are today.
