To those still far from the future that is slowly perishing. In my time, you are already walking toward ruin. Even though you’ve solved every problem once needed to survive on this planet, even though you’ve come to walk lives that approach the infinite— you still cannot stop fighting. I have spent my life wondering why I exist. Why the world exists. And surely, you have, too. I believed that one day, if I could find the answer, I would be able to move forward. And I would be saved. But before I can reach that answer, people are beginning to vanish. No one waits for my answer. No one even allows me to end my life of my own will. It is the end-point of our species— that even the time for me, or for anyone, to contemplate the reason for our being is now being taken from us. As everything draws to a close. I have no choice but to keep thinking. In the end, what were we—humans—after all? No matter what the answer is, those living now, at the end of things, can no longer reach it. So I entrust it. To my children, who will drift forever through the stars of this universe— I leave the answer. One day, they will answer. For your existence.
